President's trip 2017

Postby KirstenLee » Sun Nov 27, 2016 10:17 pm

Hey guys,

It's finally here! This is the first trip of term two from the 20th-22nd of January, where we go on a weekend away to the lovely Welsh countryside, in the cold, and go boobies for two days! And if you don’t fancy the paddling, then you can come to enjoy the welsh countryside (from a coffee shop), watch some of us fail on rapids and socialise with friends! This one's open to all members, both new and old, so even if you're an old git who decided to move down south (booooo), you can still come back and join us for the bants!

Rivers will be decided based on levels, but nothing will be too advanced, so everyone will be capable of paddling! There might be some extra stuff for those wanting more of a challenge as well. :)
We’ll be staying in a bunkhouse (Glan Dwr Mountain Lodge, just in case you feel the need to find it), so we’ll be nice and toasty in the evening – there’s even a fireplace! Food will all be included in the costs, so you don’t even need to bring your own!

The costs are ~£20 for the bunkhouse (based on 25 people), ~£12 for fuel and ~£10 for food. The club is also being lovely and subsidising the costs for members, so it'll only be £32 for you guys for the whole weekend (this is an estimate, so the final cost will vary, but hopefully not be any more than this)! Deposits to cover accommodation will need to be paid by the end of term, with the rest payable the week before you go!

Sign up with:
Name:
Driver yes/no (can you take boats?):
Kit needed: B/A, Boat, paddle, deeeick, helmet, wetsuit, cag
Pick-up location (if not a driver):
Dietary requirements (if any):

Sign-up will close on the 9th of December, but sooner if there are too many sign-ups, so if you want to come, get your name down ASAP!!

Any questions, just ask :)
Kirsten xx

PS - please don't just say yes, it's really annoying and makes the trip difficult to organise. Just saying.
