Paddle to the Pub Sunday 16th October

Postby Tom Street » Mon Oct 10, 2016 8:52 pm

Hey guys! This is the sign up for the most hotly anticipated river trip of the first term! This is THE event to go to if you're new to the club, as it's the best opportunity to get to know the others in the club and also to experience the kind of thing we do each week but in a beginners setting. There's no need for prior experience and it's overall a really fun trip.
Sign-ups will be done on a first come first served basis however if you're a current member who has to borrow kit then the freshers will have priority over you.

THE DETAILS
To go onto this trip, you must have paid Membership. This is so that you're covered in the club insurance and covered to borrow equipment. You must also have ensured that you've been to at least one pool session to have done the swim test (if you're a safety member you can 'self-certify' yourself so you don't have to have done the swim test)
Cost for the trip is £1 each to cover fuel for the drivers ferrying you all.

WHAT WE'RE DOING
So pick up for the freshers will be at 9am from the sports centre car park (if you live in town there'll be an alternate plan), where we'll drive you down to our boathouse and get you kitted up and ready to go on the river (If you need to change there's changing rooms at the boathouse), from there we'll paddle down the Lune until we reach Lancaster canall where we'll jump on and paddle down to the White Cross for food and drinks!
WHAT YOU GOTTA BRING
-Swimming Stuff
-Rash Vest/Thermals/T-shirt to get wet
-Old Shoes/Wet Shoes
-A change of clothes for afterwards
-Warm things for after
-A Towel
-Money (£1 for fuel + cost of your meal + bus money to get back to campus)
